KYIV, Ukraine—how will you measure America’s greatness?
By the measurements of its economy, or perhaps the energy of its army?
By the height of its town skylines, or even the audacity associated with the moon landings?
Maybe, because of the heroism associated with Marines who landed on Iwo Jima, or regarding the Army soldiers whom landed on Omaha Beach?
Possibly. But America’s success just isn’t constantly calculated like when you look at the films or perhaps a campaign message. Often, an anonymous work of appreciation is proof enough, also it that way if we, as Americans, don’t always see.

In my wife, Lilya, and I were at dinner in Geyserville, California, with my younger brother, Drew, and his girlfriend, Gabrielle august.
We’d been wine tasting all afternoon together with rounded from the time by having a few cocktails to start. Experiencing a little loosened up, my cousin and we, as it is our practice, slipped as a familiar subject of conversation—the war in Afghanistan.
The truth is, both Drew and I are U.S. army veterans. And, naturally, we arrive at speaking about our wartime experiences whenever we’re together. Usually a touch too loudly, as Lilya and Gabrielle carefully recommended on that in Geyserville night. (more…)
